Dried rose petals, black cherry, balsam fir, dates and black olives come through in the aroma. On the palate are flavors of pomegranate, ripe red berries and white pepper, with subtle oak in the pleasing, smooth finish. This medium-bodied, approachable wine is quite food friendly, to pair well with a broad variety of foods. Italian dishes and cheeses are definitely on our list of favorite pairings.
Ventanni will age well, so you may want to consider laying some away in your wine cellar for a few years. We have 20 cases of this special wine, and when it’s gone, it’s gone. Don’t delay!
A word of explanation – With maturity comes the realization that things often don’t go as planned, and it’s best to be flexible. So when you can’t celebrate your 20th anniversary due to a pandemic, you let the special wine you created age an extra year to improve even further, and you bring it out for your 21st birthday instead.
We trust the bit on the label that says this is our 20th anniversary wine doesn’t bother anyone, because it is. Or it was. Anyway, we’re very pleased to be able to share this wine with you now; it has only improved with age!
